John and I enjoyed cruising 3 months 10 days on our sailboat Omega in British Columbia. On our first day out we spotted J-Pod Orca Whales north of San Juan Island almost at the US/Canadian border. What a thrill....

Omega is a masthead sloop. A sloop is a one-masted sailboat with a fore-and-aft mainsail and a jib. She is also referred to as a pilot house with a canoe stern, which is great in the Pacific Northwest. You can motor or sail from inside on those rainy cool days, with her large windows.
