Arrival into beautiful Desolation Sound. We then traveled north to Shoal Bay, then through 3 separate rapids, on north thru Johnstone Strait to Port McNeill. After reprovisioning and waiting for a weather window, we traveled around Cape Caution for the first time. To go around Cape Caution, we need to take Omega into the open waters of the Pacific Ocean for 40 miles.
Picking your time & weather is what it is all about and we had a wonderful ride...
We met Don & Diane on Saoirse in Port McNeill and they were also planning on going around Cape Caution, so we made the run together.
We continue looking and calling on the radio for our friends Jim & Mary on Lady Ruff, who we did find in Port McNeill a month later.
