Happy Birthday Charlie!!!

We began our July cruise with exploring Lake Washington. We anchored in a lovely cove near Seward Park, moored in Meydenbauer Marina and finally stayed in the Kirkland Public docks, which is an experience anytime but on the beautiful weekend before the 4th of July, one John and myself will never forget. Younger crowd with loud stereo systems attached to their boats having a great time. It was a fun atmosphere. We enjoyed dinner with our friends Jerry & Gladys at Anthony's and watched the Zodiac sail and turnaround in front of the restaurant. Amazing time...

The 4th of July in Lake Union - What fun it has turned out to be and it is only half over. It is 6pm on the 4th and what a party is going on in Lake Union. We arrived around 10:45 to find other boats had already anchored, which we thought the time was noon today, so we proceeded to find our spot.

There are bands on barges, people with slides hooked to the boats and little and older ones taking a dip. All with the Seattle skyline and the Space Needle on the horizon. What fun it will be when the fireworks start. Amazing fireworks!!! Amazing crowd and everyone having a wonderful time.

Our friends Steve and Judy and their friends aboard Code Blue are going to raft to the Omega for a funfilled evening. We were so excited to spend special time with Steve and Judy and meet their friends. They had a delicious potluck aboard the boat Code Blue.

We slept great and woke up to an amazing view of Seattle waterfront. We knew we had to get up to lift anchor but had our tea, coffee and breakfast and talked about what a great evening it had been. Weather was perfect, crowds were calm and just having a great time, fireworks were amazing. Then we heard a bull horn from afar....

The only time you are allowed to anchor in Lake Union is from noon on July 4th until 7am on July 5, so the police boats were out to remind people that it was already an hour past the lift anchor time. We had to laugh but we quickly lifted our anchor and watched as they had to wake up the different boats that still had people sleeping aboard. At least they waited until after 8am... You can float on Lake Union forever but that anchor needs to be up....

It was a great time!!!
